How did Flutter & Fern begin?
Flutter & Fern began as an escape of being “just a mum.” I didn’t have a clue what direction I was going to go in but I knew I wanted to make some pins as I am a collector anyway. Fascinated by these tiny pieces of art work, I bought myself an iPad and started teaching myself to digitally draw! 3 years later and it’s grown into what it is today and I couldn’t love it more!

Your online shop features a wide array of artistic creations, including stationary, stickers and more. What do you enjoy creating the most?
My favourite thing to create is actually the notebooks! They are the main thing that make me go WOW when they arrive! I do little happy dances when one of them sells!

What goes into designing all the artistic nature-based patterns?
I love researching moths! So I can understand them a bit better when creating my art. I’ve learnt so much! Like they don’t all come out at night!

When out on the market, what is the most inspirational feedback you've received from a customer?
Mostly just the stops, stares, wows and those that come running up to see everything! It’s my favourite! Or a doubletake! When they see pink and start to pass it off and then notice stuff closer and have to come have a look haha!

Please tell us about your 4 furry friends. (:
I love our Cats hahah! We have Poppy (Hairy Tortie) who has the biggest sassy mood ever haha. She’s not a people/pet/anything cat so is often grumpy with hints of love here and there! But she’s never left the garden gate so she must love us haha. Next is Cassie (Velvet Tortie) she’s a Sphynx and one of my dream cats to have! She’s mega chill and loves sleeping under blankets haha. Then we got given Charlie (Ginger half and half Sphynx) he’s so so affectionate! He also loves to be outside which unfortunately resulted into him losing one of his legs after being run over. It doesn’t stop him though! Our last cat is Cleo (Baldy Sphynx). We nickname her the gremlin hahah. She’s full of energy and always causing mischief but we love her!
